Everyone is invited to our "TGIF (Thank Goodness It's Finished) Open House" as a way of thanking library users for their patience during our Greenfield building re-design. For several months, we've been creating dust and moving shelves without closing our doors. Now, it's time to celebrate!

We'll showcase changes that reflect the way Hancock County residents use the library now, changes that give the library an open, easy flow, such as a one-stop desk, simpler shelving, Wi-Fi connected seating areas for small-groups, and new glass study rooms with an exterior view of the landscape.

Here's what happening on open house day. Come check us out:
-Guided tours
-A scavenger hunt with two $50 Walmart cards for the winners
-A prize drawing for two Kindle Fire eBook readers
-Live music from harpist Jan Aldridge Clark
-Children's entertainment, including face painting
-Light refreshments in the GBC Community Room

Get a tax break for helping the library. Drop off your gently used books, DVDs, and music CDs at the side delivery entrance (northeast corner) of the library in Greenfield between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. A volunteer will assist when someone rings the bell. Please request your tax receipt at the same time.

Because of limited space, donations can only be made on specified dates.

Look for bargain books and other media for sale on shelves near the Greenfield entrance, to the left. Children’s books run 50 cents to $1.00. The branch in New Palestine also has sale items on a marked cart.

Proceeds from sales by the Friends of the Hancock County Public Library, a non-profit volunteer group, fund programs and special equipment.
