Cheer on your favorite as the animal pair learn that timing is everything in this race to the finish. Tickets will be available at the children's desk 20 minutes before the show on a first-come, first-served basis.

Experience the beauty and power of the human voice when singers from the Indianapolis Opera present music in a variety of genres: opera, musical theater, art songs, and classic "crooner" tunes. Journey Through the Eras with the Indianapolis Opera, is performed with piano accompaniment by a soprano, mezzo-soprano, tenor, and baritone.

Parents, our summer reading program for kids now counts time. Research shows that children reading 20 minutes a day maintain their reading skills over the summer. We want to help your children continue to succeed in school and life.

Kids Summer Reading Club Guidelines


Sign Up for the Kids Summer Reading Club by clicking the “Sign Me Up” button. The Kids Summer Reading Club is for babies up to students entering grade 5 in the fall. Looking for the Adult and Teen clubs? Click the tabs above (or the Home button on mobile).

Between June 1 and August 1
Read
20 minutes each day, then log your time by logging into your account and selecting Add/View Log. Need help? Ask at the Children’s Desk.

Earn Prizes for reaching reading milestones:
  1. Read 1 hour (60 minutes): Raid our prize stash! Choose one free small toy from the Children's Desk.

  2. Read 5 hours (300 minutes): pick out a free paperback book from our book cart.

  3. Read 10 hours (600 minutes): choose a free class, activity, or experience from a local business.

  4. Read 15 hours (900 minutes): receive a packet of coupons for free food and treats from local businesses.

  5. All reading prizes must be earned and picked up by Wednesday, August 1 at 9:00 PM.

Keep Reading books all summer long for more prizes! Every 20 minutes read gains one entry into our Grand Prize Drawings. The more you read, the greater your chances. The drawing takes place after August 1, and the winners will be notified. All Grand Prizes must be picked up by Friday, August 10 at 9:00 PM.

Teens and Adults who read 10 children's books can take credit for one book in their own clubs. So read to a child this summer!

My son really loved this book! We read it three times over the course of the last few days! It brings me back to my childhood because I remember reading certain books with my mother, and I love being able to share those same books with my son!
