Hoosier photographer John Bower will share images from his latest book, THE COMMON GOOD. This seventh volume in Bower’s oeuvre focuses on the elegant ruins of Indiana schools, churches and public buildings that were erected with taxes, tithes or tuition.

“I strive to create fine portraits of what’s ignored, forgotten, and in danger of being lost,” Bower says.

Bower has received an “Indiana Artisan” award, which recognizes the “best of the best” Hoosier artists and craftspeople. He also holds a “Distinguished Hoosier Award,” an honor bestowed by Indiana’s governor to “those who have uniquely brought admiration and respect to the state through their character and accomplishments.”

Bower will answer questions and sign copies of his books after the program.
