Kids ages 6 to 14 can play a video game called "Wandoo Planet," created by Evanced Solutions. Evanced wants kids to tell them where they got the game right and where they need to make it better. Kids' feedback will help Evanced make Wandoo even better before its official release in the spring.
The software empowers children to explore their keenest interests by playing the game. Because Wandoo Planet is driven by an "adaptive algorithm," the more kids use the software, the "smarter" it will become; and the better its recommendations for books and movies will be for all the kids who use it.
Future versions of Wandoo Planet will be used by libraries to help children find more of what they like. The game is built on the premise that if children are actively learning about and doing the thing they love, they will transcend their reading levels.
In the game, kids decide if they love, like or dislike what they see. Once they have identified a few interests they love, their own interest sapling grows into an interest tree with individual branches. The branches then start to bud with suggested, kid-friendly content that directly relates to their choices.
No registration is required for this free festival.
